Who would you become if you weren't afraid? This is the question unexpectedly thrust upon one couple after they grow frustrated putting together Swedish furniture. SUGAR
directed by Kurt Schweickhardt
Normandale Community College, 2015
In this insightful and probing serio-comic play, aspiring avante-garde artist Jack is creating socially conscious sculptures and paintings. Her boyfriend, Hugh, is an investment banker. Opposites attract. Jack’s free spirit brings a breath of fresh air into Hugh’s more staid, up-scale life. And Hugh’s financial generosity gives Jack a bit more freedom than most of her other artist friends. Or is Hugh’s money a sugar coating covering the challenges inherent in this passionate relationship?

INTO THE UNREAL CITY
a walking tour musical
music and lyrics by Mark Sweeney
directed by Laura Leffler-McCabe
MN Fringe Festival, 2014
Sometimes our memories are not quite how we remember them. And sometimes our future selves have things to tell us.
Come take a walk with Zeke as he tries to chase down the meaning of his life. Follow him through the West Bank as he encounters past versions of himself and his wife, and tries to reconcile the life he always wanted with the life he's busy living.

EVEN YOURS
MN Fringe Festival, 2012
directed by Amanda White
Even Yours paints an intimate portrait of what it takes to re-build a life destroyed by betrayal. The show is about addiction and obsession and what drives us to follow through on our darker impulses. It's about magnetism between people and the triumph of physical desire over rational thought. But it is also about the human ability to change, to break free, to choose light over darkness.
